The Grass Ceiling

A short documentary directed by Iseult Howlett, based on Eimear’s essay ‘The Fear of Winning’. Eimear appears in the film as part of the St Finbarr’s camogie team; also featured are soccer international Rianna Jarrett and rugby player Elise O’Byrne White. The Grass Ceiling premiered at the Cork International Film Festival 2019 and was an award-winner at the Catalyst International Film Festival 2020.

Banshee Press

Founded and edited by Laura Cassidy, Claire Hennessy and Eimear Ryan, Banshee Press publishes the literary journal Banshee twice a year. In 2019 the press ventured into book publishing with the release of Paris Syndrome, the debut collection of short stories by Lucy Sweeney Byrne.

The Game: The Story of Hurling

Eimear appeared as an interviewee in this three-part documentary, directed by Gerry Nelson, about the history of hurling. The Game aired on RTE in the summer of 2018 and is available to purchase here.
